The damn bitch has lost her mind! For about 2 weeks now, we have been planning a trip to Louisiana for the boys football game... a championship of sorts. The team has put their blood, sweat, and tears into this seasons game. It was a tough year on them, not because they lost most of the games, but because we felt the games were being played unfairly by the league in general. I dont really understand football so much, but I try none the less.
Anyways, back to what I was saying. {Oh, yea- the damn bitch has lost her mind! } She was notified a week ago to start making plans, and to get things set in place should she (Ursula) decides that she wants to go- which means, get a babysitter lined up, transportation, accommodations, etc. Just like everything else, she decides to make assumptions that she can just dump D5 onto whoever happens to be home (like her mom or sister) without first talking to them. She also assumed she would be able to ride with us, and that we'd foot her entire trip. First of all.... I'd like to say its because pigs will fly first before I ride in a 6 hour car drive with her- but really, there were already plans to drive other players and parents down with us-- which was why J told her to get her plans set in place.
D day has arrived, and we leave tomorrow. Not only does she not have anyone available to take care of D5 for her (because she didnt bother talking to anyone first).... she decided to put a guilt trip on SD1. {Heres a little backstory on this. You see, a couple days ago, I had asked Ursula's sister if she knew anything about this trip, and if she had bothered talking to her or her mom about it. Naturally, she had no idea- and told me that none of them are available bc they already have plans}
So today- Ursula throws a fit about how we dont have room in the car for D5, and how everyone acts like shes an inconvenience when we all have plans. Hello?! I dont recall giving birth to this child, nor do I recall her being our's along with everyone else's responsibility!
Knowing what she was about to pull, I suggested that J call Ursula's other sister, who was going to be watching SD1 and SD2 for the weekend. She agreed to watch D5 as well after hearing all the bs thats been going on- as she agreed that the guilt should not be put on the girls at all. This was not satisfying enough for Urusla, so shes does what she does best... throws a freaking fit in the middle of our house saying how shes just going to drive her car (which does not work btw) and risk it with not only D5, but SS3 and SS4 too.
I dont know why shes always trying to make everything about her all the time... why dont you just read the following text message exchange between Ursula and SD1 (which was done on my cell phone...hahha). Stupid- doesnt she know better! ha!!
SD1: You better be playing. this is SD1
Ursula: I am not. Its not fair to D5. She deserves better.
SD1: Where is she gonna go. she deserves better than what? I will take casre of her at (aunt's house).
Ursula: the minute people have something to do, she is an inconvenience. None of you were ever treated that way. And never was leaving one of ya'll behind an option.
SD1: well, youre the one thats her mom. its not our fault if we cant always do your job. Where is she going?
Ursula: U are right. I am not the mom I was w/ ya'll to D5. I may send her to (someone in Mexico). We will visit her in the summer.
SD1: not trying to be rude but hell no. D5 isnt going anywhere. What happened to family comes first. Just because people get busy doesnt mean they have to give their baby away. Serious, who do you think is going to take care of her out there.
Ursula: There is no room in our lives for her just like there is no room for her in the car
SD1: She aint going no where. Im taking her to (aunt's house) and stop saying theres no room for her. There is. I dont care about whos car she doesnt fit in, shes my baby..she is not a freaking dog.
Ursula: that is something taht nobyd out here will ever have to worry about again. All I know is that its a fight with everybody throwing her off on somebody else when they have their own plans. And she was the last person thought of. Otherwise, she would have room in the car. And your dad wouldnt be screaming for (Godmother) to take care. Thats sad.
SD1: he said that cause the godmother thing. Its going to be worst for her in mexico. Nobody has the patience for the way she cats. She is gonna get hurt. How come you were so quick to quit your job when you were gonna "teach" me and SD2, but I havent heard you say that for D5.
Ursula: bcuz you 4 will always have your dad and me. And D5 only has me, so I have to work, and be able to take care of her one day. Your grandparents are sick, and they plan on leaving to Mexico soon.
SD1: Where are you and (aunt) going to live?
Ursula: Like your dad say, we'll have to move down there with them.
SD1: You say ppl only wanna do things cuando les conviene pues tu estas igual si la mandas. y do you want me and SD2 to accept concequences for our actions when you dont.
Ursula: come outside.
I am guessing at this point, she raced over to pick up SD1 because she was being CALLED OUT!!
I just dont understand her logic... why is it always everyone else's fault? She is HER daughter... HER responsibility. We all do what we can for this child. She is precious, smart, beautiful...and her own mother disregards her like shes a rag doll. She even told J that she knows she does not give her attention like she should, but shes going to focus on the other 4 bc D5 is too young, and wont know any difference. I beg to differ...I am sure that child can feel it.
I am so close to just filing a suit against her with CPS.

Stepmom vs Biological Mom
It would seem that I, as a future stepmom, dont really know anything about children because I've never given birth to children- and its starting to annoy the shit out of me. I mean- I do the same things that any other mother out there would do for their kids- except these children arent biologically mine: I cook, I clean, I discipline, I make sure that they get their homework done, and that its done right. I play with them, I take them places, I even make efforts to come up with activities that we would all enjoy doing together such as crafts, cooking projects, etc.
So what gives?!
Do I not deserve some respect?! Or some kudos?!
Just because I physically did not give birth to these children, doesnt make me any less maternal. And just because I've never physically given birth to any children doesnt mean that I dont understand what its like to be a mother, nor what these kids think, try to pull, scheme, or plan.
Kiss my ass, Ursula! I do more for your children than you have in their entire lifetime.

Letter to Ex-Wife
Dear Ex-Wife
Your immaturity and stupidness defies explanation. I try to keep my chin up and try to be “adult” and “supportive” and “not step on toes”, but I am fed up. Please note that you were the one that cheated on your husband, and had a baby with someone else. He (now your ex, my fiance) has moved on, and tries to keep you in the kids lives as much as possible. We are all adults. Please move on. I would be happy if we could just be ‘cordial’ and call it a day without the snide and inappropriate remarks. However, I understand that is not going to be possible without some actual effort on your part. As such, Ex-wife, please be mindful of the following:
-Do not bang on the front door, and ring the doorbell insistently at 9am on a Saturday asking about some stupid deposit. That is what a phone is for.
-Do not drop by unannounced as we may already have plans. I always end up being the one to completely change my schedule around to accommodate yours when you just happen to decide you want to spend time with the kids. That is what a phone is for.
-Do not text/ call me and my fiance over and over (simutaneously) between our cell phones and house phones until someone answers unless it is an emergency. If we didn’t answer- we’re probably busy. Leave a message and we’ll call you back. PS- calling to tell me that the kids hate me does not count as an emergency. PSS- Calling to find out if a deposit was dropped at a venue for your daughter’s birthday also does not count as an emergency.
-Do not call me to bitch about the kid’s father, and how much they hate me, and think I will keep it to myself. I tell my fiance everything. O yea, they hate you sometimes too. If fact, it baffles me with some of the things they say about you.
-Try spending time with your kids more consistantly. Two hours here and there when you see fit does not count. Also, why dont you try taking them all instead of breaking them up when you take them out.
-Do not make your children feel bad for hugging me, or hanging out with me.
-Do not gossip about me in front of your kids. They do not really care what you think of my hair, my new handbag or how much my shoes cost. PS – news flash, they struggle with keeping secrets – and repeat what you say.
-Do not throw guilt trips on your kids and your ex-husband about your living conditions. Get off your ass, and do something about it. No one is going to give you hand outs. We already do enough for you.
-Do not request that my fiance change your oil, fix your air conditioning, find you a new mechanic, do your taxes, and the 100 other requests that you ask for. He is not your husband anymore. Ask one of your boyfriends.
-Do not get flustered when I am next to my fiance. Seriously, it’s okay – we are engaged. Everyone know that you guys are divorced. Many of them have blended families as well, and none appear too stress about it.
-Do not preach the bible to your children when you only tell them the parts that benefit you. Telling them that a divorce is just a piece of paper, and that you and their father are still technically married just jacks with their head even more. Telling them that they will not grow up and live long enough to have children or see their grandchildren because the world is going to end will also jack with their head. PS- Try going to church some time….you might learn something new.
-Do not call my fiance to complain about the difficulties you are having with, what’s the term - your new lover/affair person/boy toy, or your current dating escapades. He does not want to hear about it.
-I understand that you are not always happy to see me, and feel the same way about you. Regardless, please endeavor to just smile, wave, say hi, or engage in some form of non-hostile greeting when circumstances dictate we must be in the same room. Please, just be fake if it’s the only way you can manage civility.
-We love your daughter, however, my fiance is not the father of your baby. Do not throw full responsibility of her on him. We do what we can to help you out with her. Try saying thank you once in awhile since we're the one that provides clothes, baby formula, and diapers for her because you cant afford it instead of assuming its the least he can do for you.
Thanks for even considering the possibility of stepping out of the spotlight for a moment in order for the focus to be on kids, where it should be.
Cordially yours,
Soon to be Wife

They hate me
So Ursula texts me the other day to ask that I call her when I get a minute. Typically, her phone calls arent of the pleasant kind, rather the kind that makes me wish she were somewhere on a remote island far far away from cell phone reception.
So I check the calander, and she is right on schedule. The months usually alternate...one peaceful BM-free month, and then here she comes stirring the pot of drama.
She proceeds to tell me how much the kids hate me (the only reason she calls me, really), and how much they wish they were living elsewhere. She also tells me that the kids feel that they cant go to their father about their feelings- so they go (bitch) to their mother, in which she feels she has to carry the weight alone.
My reply to her was, "what is it that you want me to do about it, and what is the point of this conversation?" You see...short of me leaving J, and moving out- it would seem that nothing would make them happy. And since Im not going to do either.... I guess they are SOL.
She also tells me that sd1 and sd2 are scheming and planning on moving out. That they want Ursula to get a small apartment, that the girls would be home schooled so that they can get jobs (yea, at 14 & 15 they will get very far with that), and would live happily ever after. She seemed appauled that they even started doing research on it. I told her that there isnt anything that those two (teenage) girls are thinking about, scheming about, or doing that any teenage girl that age doesnt think about doing at one point or another. She seemed to disagree, and that she never thought about leaving her parents. (I guess I should have taken that time to tell her that I knew she ran away twice as a teenager..lol). I also tell her that behavior of typical divorced children will be similar to what they are going through now. Its transitional, and it takes time. Nothing solves itself tomorrow, and they will probably have problems with me for a long time since all they want is mom and dad to be together.
The thing that bugs me the most is- they dont act like they hate me, and they always intiate any interactions with me on their own. Ive tried giving them all space, and do my own thing. I dont ask them to hang out with me, I dont go into their rooms and have chats, nor do I try to take on the motherly role. It seems to work for the most part because it enables them to come to me on their own terms, and their own time.
**Did I mention that shes on speaker phone the entire time with J sitting next to me...LOL**
As I hung up the phone, I started feeling discouraged and doubtful. A typical feeling I get after a phone call like this. It wasnt until I was sitting in my brother's room tinkering around on the computer when ss4 comes in, and sits on the bed. We started chatting a bit, and I asked him if he needed anything. He shakes his head, and says, "No, I just wanted to hang out". (I am smiling on the inside.) He wants to hang out with me....cos he hates me soOoo much!
The next morning, both boys come back in, and sits on my brother's bed. Again, I ask if they needed anything. "No, just hanging out". Again, cos he hates me soOoo much!
I also find out over lunch that Ursula sets them up, and tries to train them to hate me. ss3 says something to the effect on ss4 hugging on me every so often, and how he told Ursula that ss4 hugs me alot. She threw a hissy fit, and says, "you know the rules.." I simply told him that there is nothing wrong with him hugging me. I said that I think they are cool, and I like hanging out with them. He replies, "I know...thats her problem."
Its funny what the kids will say if you just let them talk. Its pretty sad to think that she really does this, but I never say anything. She will use it against the kids and make them feel bad. Shes done it before...and its really uneccessary.
The girls, no doubt, are a little more obvious on their alliance to their mother. Naturally so- but its gotten to the point where they dont even leave their room, and if they do, its only beacuse Im not in whatever room they want to be in.
**sigh**.... patience. Take it one day at a time.

Love Your Enemy
I know youre supposed to "love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you," but why does it have to be so damn hard?!
This weekend was supposed to be Ursula's weekend to take the kids. Their air conditioner is out, so kids had to stay home with us instead. Not that I mind... but obviously date night had to be put on hold.
Ursula comes by to pick up the boys for track practice, only to find out... there wasnt one. Typically, she would have just left, but today, she decides to stay. I can see out of the corner of my eye that she was trying to find something to talk about, and finally settled on talking about Dirk and how his soon to be wife was wanted in 3 different states. That lead into talking about her love life, and the date she recently went on. I could tell that the direction this conversation was headed was bound to piss me off since she tends to just say things before thinking. I can feel the akwardness seeping in, and as I was about to say something smart... I was saved by the phone. Thank Gawd! After awhile, Ursula decides to leave- leaving me with ss1 & ss2. They want to go swimming, and I agree to take them to the gym to go.
Since it was Ursula's weekend, I had to make sure she didnt have plans with the kids before I took them. She decides that she wants to go with us.... what?! really?! (what do I say....what do I say....) "Sure, come meet us over here first, and we'll ride together." I called J to give him a headsup that we will all be together, and hopefully, will come back alive together. All in all, everything was quite pleasant surprisingly enough. The funny part was seeing her sneak off to find management to see if she can swindle her way back onto the gym membership at J's expense. LOL.. (she was taken off, and my membership and his was combined as a family).
On the way home, all the kids got into a discussion about religion: heaven vs. hell. She told them that a 2nd marriage is still considered adultery, and that you will go to hell- that I would go to hell because our marriage would not be recognized in the eyes of God because I would be his 2nd wife. She also told them that if you (fornicated) before marriage, and/or cheat- you'd go to hell (guess we're all going to hell then arent we?). Here's the creme de la creme: She also told them that the world was going to end soon, and they all probably would not live to grow up, get married, and have children (yea...I know, right?!). All this coming from a woman who cheated on her husband, and had a baby by another man. Talk about irony.
Anyways, to end her whole hell vs. heaven lecture, she was sure to add in there that we should all love our enemies as if they were our best friends. I wonder if that was an indirect stab at me. O well, see everyone in hell.

A Kid's Point of View from a Diary of a Mad StepMother
In my spare time, I like to read blogs from other stepmoms. Consider it my outlet for my frustrations because I cant really take it out on anyone else.
I stumbled upon this blog today, called Diary of a Mad StepMother. One entry she writes about "A Kid's Point of View" cracked me up so much that I had to post it. I dont expect anyone else to think this is as funny as I found it to be.This happened quite a while ago, I admit... but it still kinda sets the tone for the daily mentality, so I thought I'd share.
Here was the conversation:
ME: You guys need to do your chores, it isn't that much. Nobody likes doing chores. Do you think I like doing MY chores?
SARAH: YOU have chores?
ME: Uhhh, yeah... what do you think I am doing when I do dishes and laundry and vacuuming and stuff?
SARAH: I thought you were just cleaning the house!(facepalm)
It is so funny how right on that is. Almost on a daily basis, I either get, "huh? what? did you say something?"; "do I have to?"; or "I hate doing chores."I wonder if kids actually think we adults LIKE doing chores....
